The 2010 Paris Motor Show is now well under way and a number of cars have already been unveiled, such as the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept, and the Kia Pop Concept. Sticking with the small vehicle theme is the Renault Twizy, which is a little like a scooter but with increased safety. The Twizy was shown only in design at last years show, so is nice to see a production model of the concept vehicle. Unlike a scooter, the Renault Twizy can carry two occupants, which they have to sit in tandem as if they were on a bike.
According to Autocar, the new Twizy has a 20bhp electric motor offers a top speed of 47mph, which is certainly faster than most scooters on the road. Renault claims that the EV is good for 60 miles making it perfect for those who have to commute to the city – just make certain that you do not live more than 60 miles return journey. The cost of the Twizy is expected to be around £6000.
