The Impreza Design Concept is an aggressive, but familial, outlook for the only all-wheel-drive-all-the-time company. And while it’s a smaller company, that doesn’t mean Subaru has to skimp out on design.
The engine in the IDC is a 2.0-liter version of Subaru’s trademark Boxer configuration flat-four motor. It’s mated to a continuously variable transmission that Subaru calls Lineartronic. In a twist of irony, while the overall design of the car is forward looking, a slightly larger version of its engine, at 2.5-liters, is currently in use in the 2011 Forester.
