Ferrari 599XX Dashboard ViewWe first saw the Ferrari 599XX in the Geneva Motor Show in March, when Ferrari brought to the show, but details were rather thin on the ground. In fact, there were more details about the package management 599 - the 599 HTGE Pack - was not the 599XX. However, Ferrari has been fixed, and provide more information and photos. It's about time!
Track cars are a special breed. Cars are bound by what is lawful and practicable, and cars registered are bound by the rules of the series where they compete. So what does the 599XX has to offer? Well, Ferrari began with a lot of bits and some aerodynamic modifications of the engine. The wheels to get donuts behind the inner edge (an F1 car) for better cooling. There is additional support aided by aerodynamic underbody and rear diffuser active. The C-pillars also receives small wings to help air circulation. The engine receives more than a pinch, offering 700 hp at 9,000 rpm and the gearbox is reprogrammed to provide even more rapid changes.
All these changes, and more, allowing the test track 599XX LAP Ferrari is faster than any road car, or even the Enzo FXX basis. On the road, say a road version of KERS system used in F1, and a host of other things. In general, the 599 final. And a rolling test bed for the next generation of Ferrari road cars.
