Skoda Octavia vRS Bonneville Front View
Skoda has announced programs to race a specially-modified Octavia vRS at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Made with all the support of REVO Technik, the automobile options a two.0-liter TSI petrol engine that has been equipped having a new Garret turbocharger. Thank you to high-octane race fuel and 26 to 28 PSI of increase, the motor will produce 550-600 PS (405-441 kW / 542-592 hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Skoda estimates this can allow the car or truck to hit a major velocity in excess of 200 mph (322 km/h).
Aside from the aforementioned tweaks, the Octavia may also have a very constrained slip differential, a K&W coilover suspension (which reduces the ride height by 80mm) and 15-inch steel wheels with aerodynamic covers and Goodyear Eagle Land Velocity tires. In addition, to meet the stringent Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) safety regulations, the vehicle has also been outfitted that has a roll cage, a parachute and fire extinguishers.
