Spy photographers in Germany have caught the first images of the 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase (EWB). While details are limited, the EWB features modified B-pillars and longer rear doors. If it's anything like the Phantom EWB, the Ghost EWB will have a 250mm (9.8") stretch which will make the car 5649mm (222.4") long with a 3545mm (139.6") wheelbase. If this is correct, the Ghost EWB will be a tad shorter than the standard Phantom which measures 5840mm (229.9") long and rides on a 3570mm (140.6") wheelbase. This will undoubtedly put the Ghost EWB between a rock (Bentley Mulsanne) and a hard place (Rolls-Royce Phantom) - literally and figuratively.
Sensibility aside, power will be provided by a turbocharged 6.6-liter V12 engine with 563 bhp (420 kW / 570 PS) and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque. It will be connected to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, which will likely enable the Ghost to accelerate from 0-60 mph in approximately five seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
