High-performance isn’t a term thrown around a lot to describe the Toyota Camry, but the RK Collection (RKC) Toyota Camry NASCAR Edition is just that. Thanks to the inspiration of Rob Kauffman, the Camry NASCAR Edition is essentially a road-going version of its racecar counterpart.
The exterior shell of the concept was custom made by RKC, creating a factory incorrect Camry coupe. From there, RKC installed a unique body kit, Toyota grille, carbon fiber brake ducts and TRD emblems. The Camry NASCAR Edition rolls on 20-inch wheels provided by TSW Jarama.
The engine bay of the Camry coupe is pure NASCAR, thanks to a 358 cubic-inch V8 making a very un-Camry like 680 horsepower. The NASCAR-sourced V8 breaths through a 3-inch custom exhaust, featuring an X-pipe, Thrush mufflers, Quicktime performance cutout and side exhaust outlets. Power is routed via a six-speed manual transmission.
The Camry’s interior isn’t exactly barebones racecar, sporting custom leather seats, air conditioning, a suede headliner and pumped up audio system.
Don’t look for the Camry NASCAR Edition to arrive in Toyota showrooms anytime soon, but the show car can be seen at the November 12 NASCAR race in Phoenix, Arizona.
