Toyota has released images of the second iteration of its FT-86 concept car, said to be very close to the actual production version due to go on sale in 2012. Geneva Motor Show II FT-86 has several differences in style on the original concept unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show 2009. First, designers of Toyota Coupe restyled by removing the bottom line of raid and add new beltline that starts from the front wheel of a theatrical air ventilation and ends at the end the rear window, which itself grew in size. In addition, Toyota is cutting the front window and removed the mask A final column, while the rear wheel arches are more pronounced, and there are new side sills.
Front end is a new bumper with larger central grille and concave surfaces and angles, while Toyota also threw in a couple of flashy looking LED daytime running lights.
In addition, the magazine Toyota FT-86 is a standalone new rear end, protruding taillights and a different treatment of the bumper that houses the powerful speaker and large tail pipes on both sides. Re-shaped rear window and the installation of fixed rounded style changes.
The general feeling we get is that Toyota has all the "Fast & Furious" with FT-86 redesign makes the coupe look busy unnecessary and, ultimately, far less elegant than the original concept.
The company said the new concept measures 4,235 mm long, 1795 mm wide and 1270 mm high, which means it has increased by 75 mm long, 35mm wide and 10mm in height while riding on same wheelbase 2570 mm long as FT-86 In.
The remaining features remain a secret for now that the only information we know for sure is that the FT-86 will receive a Subaru boxer engine with the power from being transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The same configuration will be used on the Subaru version of the FT-86, which was also presented at the Geneva Motor Show, with a see-through plastic body.
