Lexus has just given the RX crossover a facelift for the 2013 model year in America and Europe, introducing the same spindle grille used on the GS sedan. This has been joined at the top of the range by an F Sport package that supposed to be driver-oriented through the stiffer suspension and more precise steering it offers.
But for the bottom of RX range, the Japanese automaker wants to offer more affordable luxury through a smaller engine. According to Lexus Australia, the RX270 will launch next month, powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine producing 185 horsepower. This underpowered SUV will be offered exclusively in combination with front-wheel drive, since AWD systems would sap what’s left of the engine’s output.
